I went down to Castle Rock Bay yesterday hoping to catch a rainbow. The rain stopped soon after I arrived and the sky began to clear, so there was no chance of a rainbow. So I went across to Castle Rock. The wind was coming gently from the east, so the water in the little bay in front of the rock was smooth. The green moss on the rocks at the waters edge attracted me to this shot. (A 22 image stitch, but there was a lot of overlap).
My previous post on this seems to be getting a lot of people interested in it, so I thought I would post another example. In this shot you can see some of the green weed that hasn’t yet been bleached.
In my Cosy Corner in Winter post I mentioned that the lime green weed in the image gets bleached by the sun and turns white. Here is an image of similar weed that has been bleached. Either way green or white the weed provides dramatic color to contrast with the surroundings.
This was taken south of Redgate Beach.
