Landscape Photographer from the South West of Western Australia

I am a Busselton boy from way back – I attended High School there in the 60’s. In those days there were very few jobs in the area apart from timber mills, dairy farms, and potato farms, and if you reached year 11, you could join the bank.

I left Busselton at 17, and went to university, got a job, got married, had children – all the usual things. My professional career was in IT, and SCADA systems. At one stage I worked overseas in Brunei and then Holland and during that time developed an interest in photography (probably because of all the travel I was doing at the time!).

Just after 2000, my wife and I bought some holiday houses in Dunsborough, and used them as an excuse to retire and come down to manage them. This has given me the time to rekindle my interest in photography. The South West of Western Australia is a beautiful area, and I specialise in landscape photography of the area.

Thanks for taking an interest.

    • Thanks for the compliment Melissa. We allow small dogs at the Old Dunsborough house. Unfortunately the Stays web site redirects visitors to their home page, so the link on my blog doesn’t quite work. Click on it, then when you are at the Stayz site, add 4883 to the web address and try again.
My email address is ianw at if you want more information.

    HI Ian,
Well yes, not much work available in Busselton in 1966.
But I did join a Bank.
Also retired to Busselton for 18mths, but now living in Yanchep. (closer to the grand kids)
Also now into photography, strange but nothing much has changed over the last 50 years, except I no longer sail a VJ.

Your photography is first rate .
