Landscape Photographer from the South West of Western Australia

Meelup Falls

We have had a lot of rain in the Southwest over the last week, and particularly over the last 24 hours. I went out to Meelup this morning and shot these two images.

This was taken from the beach looking up the stream at the western end of the beach.

It is still drivable, but you don't often see this much water flowing across the road.

(PS For those not familiar with Meelup there is no such thing as Meelup Falls- the waterfall only appeared after exceptionally heavy rain)!

Wow that is a bit of water – news report said over 100mm in last 24 hours for down south… Wet here too but not that much – awesome shots that are different to the little trickle in summer!!

    • It has certainly been wet. I see there is water over Caves Road south of Metricup Road, and we noticed all rivers and drains have risen 1.5m in the last 24 hours.
