Old Dunsborough holiday fun

This shot was taken at Fish Rock, just near the Old Dunsborough boat ramp. This typifies Old Dunsborough – a couple of families out fishing, a pelican waiting for a feed, and a stingray popping its head out of the water to see if there was any chance of a fish! Pity about the rear view of the red shorts though. There are two stingrays who frequent these rocks and they are very tame. Essentially this one was begging for food, and soon after this the guy in (or nearly in) the red shorts demonstrated – the stingray popped its head up, and he gave it a fish – it proceeded to eat it on the spot.

It is currently salmon season and there are some good catches being made all along the coast. Some have been caught here recently. For good measure the Curry Van comes 3 times a week to the carpark nearby – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. AND some humpback whales were seen breeching further out the day before.

Life is good!

  2. Those stingrays are too neat. As for the plumber’s butt- I thought that every shoreline on any water body had a requisite number of falling-down-shorts. I know we here in Wisconsin/the American Midwest exceed our quotas.
