London

I went to London yesterday and joined all the tourists. Here is a photo from the millenium bridge and another taken from the London Eye. Originally I wasn’t going to go on the Eye because even the queue for fast track tickets was so long I couldn’t work out where the end was. But late in the afternoon it became reasonable.

The Circus, Bath

I took advantage of a free day to go to Bath for the day. I was last there nearly 30 years ago and spent nearly 8 months in Bath and surrounding areas. So it was interesting to go back and refresh memories of this beautiful city. The thing that surprised me most was that there were very significant numbers of tourists in spite of the weather. The streets were icy and it was difficult to walk around.

English pubs

This place has a superb atmosphere. However I suspect it is probably only a few years old!

Paddington Station

I had just arrived in London after 34 hours of travelling and was adjusting to the time difference. So I went down to Paddington Station to fill in time until it was time to sleep. While taking this shot I was interrupted by a station guard who warned me that I should ask for permission to avoid being mistaken for a terrorist! Apparently I looked harmless as he let me continue.

I love the architecture in this station.

Flying high

Last weekend the forecasts were for a large swell (4-5m). Saturday morning North Point at Cowaramup Bay was the “goto” place. When I arrived the shore was lined up with photographers and in the water there were photographers (with underwater enclosures for their cameras), jet skis, more photographers and some of the better surfers. This shot is of a local surfer who performed this great aerial manouvre
