Landscape Photographer from the South West of Western Australia

My new D800E arrived today. It is an amazing camera, but unforgiving. Compared to the Nikon D7000 the depth of field is less, focus is so much more critical, but the detail is staggering. It is also good to see the Nikon 14-24mm zoom no longer operating as a 21-36mm zoom! I can see I will take some time to learn how to use this camera. In the meantime here is a 2 image stitch in which all these things are not critical. Taken tonight at Quindalup. I can see that any images displayed on the web will be totally unable to show off the capabilities of this camera. Oh well – must be off to practise! Quindalup and the D800E

    • Its a known problem – I think there will be a firmware update for the camera soon!

  2. I’d like to ask for a full res photo to have a look but am scared of the filesize! Think we will have to revisit the book soon with your new toy.

    • This was a two image stitch. When saved as a tiff file it is 206MB. But it is probably not the best image to display the capability of the D800E.
