Bushfire at Ellenbrook

It was an overcast day today – a good opportunity to get some landscape shots without the harsh light we normally get in the bright sun. This devastation is as a result of the Margaret River bushfires in November. The Ellenbrook homestead was about the only thing that survived in the area – everything around the homestead was burnt. Already you can see green shoots appearing. It is remarkable how quickly nature responds to these events.

You can see how some of these plants are designed for the occasional bush fire. Haunting mix of colours. The homestead was lucky.
