These dragons grow to around 80cm in length. Although they are supposed to be common around Brisbane one of the best places to see them is at Roma Park. This was my first real chance to try out a new lens – the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR2. I am very impressed with it. This was a handheld shot.

I am visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Brisbane. Yesterday we visited the skywalk at Mt Tamborine 15 metres up in the air. I was struck by the patterns of these ferns. It was also an opportunity for a vertical stitch.

Castle Bay fishing

Castle Bay (or Castle Rock Bay) is the site of the whaling station that existed in the 1840-60 period. There was a whaling station here (rumored to be buried under the carpark.
Whenever I come here there seems to be a group of interesting people – in this case fishing. Previously I encountered some people who had anchored a small yacht just offshore and were living aboard – well on the beach as well but it was a small yacht!

Injidup Beach

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in this area, and it is still relatively unspoilt. These winter days where there are gaps in the rain can be beautiful if you can wait for the breaks in the rain.

Winter’s day at Sugarloaf Rock

Its been a while since I posted anything – been very busy moving house, and a consulting job has kept me busy. This is taken from just South of Cape Naturaliste. The sun broke out briefly for this photograph.
