Chasing fog

This morning there was a heavy fog from Bunbury to Dunsborough, and patchy fog in the area between Caves Road, and Bussell Highway. There were also some clouds in the sky giving some prospect of a decent sunrise. I had permission to shoot at Moss Bros vineyard, and there is a great spot the owner told me about. As it turned out the fog was thick, but some distance away, and there were clouds on the horizon, reducing the glow from the sunrise. However the result was worth the trip I thought.

The fog started to lift after the sun rose, so I went home. When I got home I found the fog was still a thick blanket between Dunsborough and Busselton. On a clear day we can see Bunbury from our balcony – this morning we could only see the blanket of fog. So I quickly dashed off to Quindalup, and shot this image (this is not a black and white image – it is full color!)

I like the contrast between the color of the dinghy, and the lack of color elsewhere in this next shot.

  1. i like the boats in fog Ian.

At last we had a mm of rain here last night only 1 though. I see Margaret River had 25mm so you probably had your garden watered as well.

  2. Thanks Merv.

We got a fair bit of rain last night, probably not 25mm though. At least we can stop watering now – just as well as we were about to run out of water.
